TN I-65 shut down exit 61 - Tanker crash explosion fatality bridge damage

I would rather have just one old driver with 40 year's of
experience driving for the same company hauling that
tanker full of fuel than 100 drivers with 5 years of driving
experience. This kind of wreck can happen to anyone of
us anytime. Rest in peace driver....

 

Well, I'll agree with you to a point. 1st, I wouldn't sell all drivers with 5 years experience short. If they drive a gas tanker, only an idiot wouldn't realize what they're hauling( although I'm sure it happens)and 2nd, a driver in their late 60's is far more likely to have a problem than a younger person. I mean, I'm not against older drivers, if the guy wants to haul a load of paper towels (or whatever) fine, but this is a rolling bomb we're talking about, with the potential to hurt or kill lots of people. I've always thought a truck carrying something as dangerous as gasoline, was taken too lightly, and the fact it shares the road with everyday traffic freaks me out, although, I don't have a better solution, except a 67 year old man driving a gas tanker just bothers me. I hauled 1 load of gas in my career, and the whole time I kept thinking, what if something happens? Clearly, it wasn't for me.
