Don't know much about Garmin 760lmt, but generally speaking Garmin is head and shoulders above most GPS manufacturers. I bought the Rand TND 720 a few months back and it is alright but has it's issues. Went back to using my Garmin (not a truck GPS) and motor carriers atlas to find my way around.

i have no experience with the garmin 760 either, but i have used garmin nuvi (dont remember number) truck gps for quite awhile, and very few problems for those of us with a functioning brain as well. biggest problem ive had is it not recognizing EXACTLY where the destination is...ie, it will tell me its on the left and its on the right (seldom) or will tell me its 1/2 mile away when its really 1/4 or 3/4mile away. bigger problem is getting BACK ON a highway after pickup, delivery, or at a truck stop. fairly often it will tell me to turn left out of the driveway when the highway is to the right, then will route me in a big circle to get to the hwy. better option is to pay attention to how you got there, and go back the way you came, ignoring the wrong turn suggestion by gps. but if you forgot, the directions get you there, just a little out of route...a little annoying.

I have had both TND units and Garmin units. I have to say the garmin units have been far more reliable then the TND units.
Currently use a Dezl 560 unit. Have been looking for the new Garmin 760 unit, sounds like a good product, but have yet to see one.

MSRP for both units is $399.

Garmin dezl 760LMT has lifetime map updates AND traffic included.

Rand-McNally only includes lifetime maps if you purchase the unit during a "promotional period". Current one ends in the next few weeks.

Traffic costs extra with the Rand-McNally unit.

I've been running a TND 710 and a Garmin dezl 560LMT side by side for a few weeks now, and the Garmin is bettet at the actual routing, etc. But I like the user interface of the TND-710 better.

I'm going to buy the Garmin dezl 760LMT.

Looking at this same thing right now. Been reading a lot that the garmin does not give any notification other than a beep and a "universal" alert indicator for upcoming scales, state lines, etc. then you have to actually look to see what the alert is. My experience with a friends Rand McNally is actual verbal notifications.

Can anyone confirm anything about this? Thanks.
