1099 is bad.
Eastern European accent is bad.
Any company in general in that area is bad.
Why do ya'll come here whining that this company or that company screwed you over? If you came here FIRST you would have already known that. It doesnt matter WHAT the company name is. The recipe is the same...
To ALL Chicagoland drivers....

Most 1099 outfits are lookin' to cut corners any way they can... and that often includes driver's pay, plus zero benefits.
Having said that, I drove for a couple of 1099 outfits that ran long, literally from one ocean to another, which meant less time wasted on the docks... they also ran large triangle routes, which aren't bad for letting your hours recoup.
Another outfit ran TV tubes & other electronics from San Diego to the Sanyo plant in Forrest City, AR, out and back with 2-3 days off in between runs, which suited me at the time. A regular dedicated run on the Southern Route (I-8 to I-10 to I-20 to I-30 to I-40), which meant no severe weather... pretty easy.
So there are exceptions to the 1099 rule, as some of those 1099 outfits offer other incentives like additional home time, easy drop & hook, relatively light loads all the time, etc. We'd backhaul empty racks from that Sanyo plant, but even if we had a live reload, they were pretty quick about it.nredfor88 and bryan21384 Thank this. -
1099 outfits do have a presence in the industry in my opinion. They helped me keep income in the house, maintain experience, keep my skills up, and bid time while I cleaned my record up. That being said, they work initially, but you can't necessarily make a career out of it.
