I reloaded granite rock this morning, nothing exciting, I’ll drop that in Ormond beach in the morning then hopefully pre-load for Monday. I have to go to the dentist to get my final crown tomorrow, I’ll be glad for that to be finished.

What are they loading on you? It looks like you’re in a recycling yard, but it looks like the loader has a boulder he’s about to destroy your floor with.

It is a very large aluminum recycling place. They lined the floor with dust and smaller stuff first then put big chunks on top

Decided to get a jump on the week and head out today, didn’t take me long to remember how much I dislike leaving on sundays. I don’t care how many times I’ve left out on a Sunday, it never gets easier, but what the heck, it’s all part of the job sometimes. Anyway, this pretty wicked storm chased me in to my destination tonight, I’m not complaining though as it brought down the ungodly temps we’ve been dealing with lately. Safe travels as everyone starts the week. 9B278ECA-81CE-4AA8-820F-6631382D62BB.jpeg

I always hated leaving on Sundays. I feel your pain. Nice pic tho. Man I swear it’s like I’m the only one with a non electric tarp anymore. I can’t wait till I get mine issued to me. Do you find yourself having to swing your bows a lot?

I do more than swing them, I have to remove them regularly because we haul so much scrap, I’d say 75% of the time the load hangs and the crane has to pick it out. I’m not sure how @tndriver bow system works, but it looks fairly effortless. I’ve walked many loads of scrap, that crap can get sketchy at times.

Well I also left out this afternoon. Laying here in MO waiting for 7:00. Most all our trailers have a handle on The side to raise bows. Have maybe 3 that gotta be individual installed/removed.

When I haul flux. All I gotta do is flip the tail of tarp, open door, and dump. I’ve done that scaled and on the road in 15 minutes.

Yep same here I was just curious. Some end dump guys around here have bows all connected with a string and they just grab the string, swing em over, load, swing em back tarp and go. Meanwhile, I’m beating mine out, swing them, load and then climb back over everything and bend and beat them back in. Then if it’s scrap before I dump, get back up there, crawl over everything and take the last 3-4 out so they don’t get destroyed during the dump. When it’s clay or something it’s not so bad but walking over jagged, greasy, sharp, slick, heavy metal scrap is a real drag. Still beats waiting hours on end at a fly infested meat plant staging area though. I was just wondering if you got up there as much as we do. Sounds like you do. My tri axle has fiberglass bows and I love it. They can take a lot of abuse. I’d hauled some pretty chunky clay and it’s withstood the beating. This past Thursday tho the loader couldn’t quite get high enough and when tilting the bucket it popped a few out of the bow pocket but it wasn’t no big deal. I got a barrel most of this week so I’ll have a break from bow troubles for a bit.
