@motocross25 everything good with you dealing with this weather? Haven’t heard from your travels this week, also @NightWind how’s things on your end? I know it got a little dicey up that way earlier this week.

 

Hey there! Yep everything is good. Sorry I been absent lately just really nothing new to report. We’ve been running for the salt mine still. Long days between waiting in line and driving to all the KDOTS. Back at it next week. The beginning of this week was a little sketchy with the weather but western and central Kansas didn’t get much for precipitation. Just cold! Another fun thing that happened is last weekend we had our water faucets dripping and my girlfriend came down stairs and said “hey the water in our bathroom sink in the bedroom isn’t dripping anymore”. Called maintenance, they came out thawed out a pipe. Great. 15 minutes after they left it was old faithful in reverse coming out the garage ceiling. It sucked and it was a pain but thankfully it was just the garage and not our living room. And thankfully too we rent! So letting them fix it, deal with it, and pay for it is just aces in my book.

 

Nothin new to report. Dispatch isn’t sending us out to the salt mine until Wednesday, says we’ve been out there and the yard has gotten rail cars in and he needs help fillin orders we have. Unloaded my scrap from Friday in Sedalia and then came back to yard and loaded for University of Missouri today. Came back and preloaded for Leon, IA. We almost hit 70 degrees today in KC. Almost a 90 degree difference than last week!

 

Our kitchen hot water froze up cuz one of us mistakenly shut it off while we were home the last time. It took running space heaters on it like a week to thaw it out. I gotta reroute plumbing this coming weekend while I'm at home in addition to organizing our new big truck that we just moved into. Our 1st truck went back to volvo for warranty work.

 

Yea water issues are a nightmare. I saw on your other thread you got assigned a new truck. How you guys liking it?

 

Took salt to Leon IA and reloaded heavy metal scrap in Des Moines. Dump that tomorrow in Sedalia, reload rock in Eudora KS for Salina then out to the salt mine to help them chip away at orders. The good times keep on rolling.

 

The one truck had to go back to volvo for a computer problem. So we're in another one. It's doing ok so far.

 

Howdy all, been a pretty low key few weeks. Sitting in south Florida tonight half a mile away from my fertilizer delivery, I have to grain gate it so getting in there first is ideal, hope everyone is well, looks like we might finally be breaking in to spring. Miss the old days of this thread with all its regular posters, pretty much just me and you @motocross25 these days, hope you don’t find a new career path
