Yo! Been busy! Concrete plants are ramping up and they’re doin major road construction right near my house adding a lane and all this other nonsense. They have a batch plant set up and we have been hauling in there. This afternoon I brought them a load and when turning in my bills jokingly mentioned “man I could walk home from here”. Dude told me “go for it. Park up in the corner we’re done for the weekend you won’t be in anyone’s way”. So I did! We doing some Saturday morning work tomorrow so I’ll just walk to the truck, make a few rounds and enjoy the weekend. What have you been up to down there? Still battling traffic?

Traffic’s been rough, truck threw some kind of DEF, possible fuel pressure code this afternoon so it’s back to the shop Monday to hop in a wore out spare again I suppose. It’s getting exhausting, I’ve never kept a truck this long working here, I’ve been with the company now for 11 1/2 years collectively and have grown accustomed to new trucks every 2 years, I’ve had this one going on 4 years this august, and up around 415K on the odometer, so the gremlins are creeping in. I keep my truck immaculate, so running a spare is tough for me because overall most of our spares are rough. We’ll see how it goes, I pray they get it figured out this time.

In case anyone’s wondering, spare truck week has been hell, considering going in to the woods and hiding for a few days to reset the brain :)

Still in the shop :(. To try and simplify the issues, it comes down to voltage, possibly our elog causing voltage spikes, in turn causing these false codes. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me because I’ve had the truck nearly 4 years and this issue has only arose in the last 6–8 months. I personally like the elog, but crap like this makes me miss the old days of simple trucks, with simple fixes.

2 weeks and the truck is still in the shop, on a positive note though I got some new work shoes to feel more at home in the spare :) IMG_1068.png

Fertilizer season in the south, only a couple of trucks in here and still more than 2 hours to load, on top of the cut throat trucks willing to jump line just to make a buck. Doesn’t rank too high on my favorites list, but at least we’re truckin’. IMG_1070.jpeg
