I’ve had the Mack since new, 80 miles on it when I got it. This Volvo was wore out when I got it, but Ive got it freshened up pretty good, the next guy will have a decent truck. I’m a big fan fan of clean, organized trucks, we have some almost brand new stuff here that looks like they’ve been through the depths of hell in their short time of service. It’s really a shame how some people treat other peoples equipment.

Brutally hot down here, I know record heat is sweeping the country but there is something truly different about Florida heat, it gets to me worse and worse every year and I’ve lived here my whole life. Either way, still no mack, engine and chassis wiring harnesses are on order, I don’t have much hope that’s going to do anything but who knows? Friday will be 10 weeks, I dont work weekends so the simple math shows that truck hasn’t worked for 50 days, this would be enough to shut down a one man show in my opinion.

Loaded some lime today, heading south in the AM. IMG_1102.jpeg

I am getting put into a 2023 anthem tomorrow. Then heading out west to Arizona. By the sounds of potential plans I may not be back home for a couple weeks. I'll sure be glad when fall gets here so i can get back to being home more.

Good luck with the ‘23, unless they’ve changed the hood design, prepare yourself for a rattle trap. In my experience thus far the anthem is not a well built truck, hopefully your experience will be different. I’d keep the current ride if I was you, not sure if that’s an option.

No it wasn't an option. An yea I already heard the rattling hood. Wish I coulda kept the 2017 but it needed to go in the shop for a laundry list of repairs.

Truck seems to be riding fairly decent so far. It's short on take off power. The air ride front suspension is something that's gonna take some getting used to. It's definitely strange looking out the window at air instead of a hood. The thing slopes off so hard ya barely even notice it has a hood at all.

@motocross25 saw a couple of your coworkers at Woodbine Quarry the other day. Hamm's can't crush rock fast enough with 1" going out as fast as it hits the ground for a big wind energy project near Belleville and we're loading about everything else for APAC between paving jobs.

Yes sir I think we had a couple 2 or 3 trucks on that, I heard it was quite the operation out there. I haven’t had a chance to make it out there yet. I guess they were getting rock from all over and then I think Thursday cut us off so they could crush more. It sometimes baffling to me how these quarries can even keep up, we were on 2 jobs out of Olathe Thursday and Friday that both called for over 25,000 ton of AB-3. I guess I’m in the wrong business I should own a rock pit.

Hope everyone enjoys some time off if you have it, or stays safe if you’ve got to work. I’m going to run south in the AM, about 3 hours, and pre load some shell for Wednesday AM. I have a tough time sitting around not doing anything, it’s way too hot in Florida right now to do much outside of the house, so I might as well work. @motocross25 what was your and the families opinion of the good old sunshine state when you visited? Personally I’m ready to close the chapter on being down here, I think for me though it’s based on how much it’s changed in the last few years, it really has become overrun and overcrowded.

We thought it was about how you said. It was fun and the beach was cool but good night of living it’s just so crowded and the people down there just have that typical “me first” attitude that’s so prevalent everywhere. There was a round about to get to the beach and 3/4 of the people couldn’t be bothered to look up from their phone, just go charging into it, every else be ######. But it was nice to getaway. We have a 4 day weekend up here they gave us Monday off as well, and Friday they told us to shoo at about 1 o’clock. So I’m not complaining! Have a good 4th!
