All other factors being equal, the slower you go up, the less likely you are to tip.

Only go as high as you need to to get all of the load out.

If it is a windy day, dump with your truck facing into a headwind - NEVER dump when there is a crosswind.

 

It wouldn't hurt to back into your dump spot and pull forward then back back down to the dump spot to pack the dirt. Just makes it more sturdy when dumping in soft spots. Espicially at places like APEX where they get everything Trash construction dumps. Always get out and look

 

If it dont look right or feel right let it down and start again as many times as it takes its allways faster to take your time do it right rather than shoveling the load off and calling a wrecker and repair shop

 

I started dumping roll offs 7 years ago. When in training I was always told to stay clear of end dumps. For the last year I've hauled frameless end dumps. I haul an older Lufkin with leaf spring suspension. The advice given here is perfect. All areas of concern have been pointed out. One thing that sticks out is backing over the dump spot a few times to pack down the dirt. I haul mostly HazMat waste to various long distance landfills. Since they're constantly receiving material, the ground changes by the hour. It may look solid, but can easily deceive you. One thing I can add to all the great tips......if possible, back up onto someone elses tire tracks and dump in front of thier pile. This may help ensure you have a solid surface.

 

i have been pulling a end dump for 9 months and didn't
no one tell me to dump the bags on the truck. glad i read this learn something new every day

 

stupid question here; if u have a low tire or a flat; why can't u dump? what will happen if u do?

 

i heard @ most places u load/unload with an end-dump u have to wear a hard hat, steel toe shoes & sometimes safety glasses; is any of this true?

 

Not all places. Of all the places I've loaded/unloaded, only a couple require a hard hat
or a safety vest.

 

With a frame-less trailer, it may tip over. A low or flat = not level.
