    No. Ever means Ever.

Even if you have had your charges and convictions expunged, carriers have access to information that normal companies do not. Because of the regulation and the insurance web, they can access info that may be obstructed to a non-industry job.

If the application asks if you have EVER been convicted of a felony, then of coarse answer honestly, but most ask if you have been convicted of a felony in the last 10 years. And even though you had a felony there are still some reputable companies that will hire you, just have to look for them. Check the companies that do not go into Canada and that might be a place to start.

Hi Shadowlurker, I'm in the same exact situation as you were/are when you posted this. I live in Eastern Washington and thought that CDS looked like it might be the best out there, but my concerns are the same as yours were, finding a job afterwards versus sigining on with a company and possibly getting a bad deal. Have you made a you come to a conclusion on this and what's your thought?

Hi I am 23 and I want to become a truck driver... My concerns are that I have had a few tickets in the past, none in the past 2 years. Also I was rear ended and it wasn't my fault. Other than that I have no DUIs or felonies or anything. I was thinking of going to Sage school in Denver but I really want to make sure that I dont waste my time doing this and end up not getting a job... I already wasted 2 years going to community college and getting a degree without that helping me get a job in any way.

With this economy is it hard for someone without any experience to get a trucking job? I wouldn't be picky, I just want to get my foot in the door.

My daughter went to West MI CDLand loved it. The classes are small they are all about safety and helping the student learn to be the best driver they can be. I know she would recommend it.:biggrin_255:

I have heard bad things about Stevens CDL school but their regular company is great. Safety is first in everything they do with their drivers.
