So, my wife and I are thinking about moving to GA. I live in Maryland and run containers as a owner op. The rates are ok here but, I was wondering about what the rates where like in GA. Or if they have any ports there any help would be greatly appreciated drivers!
To any owner operators out of GA I'm thinking of moving there. How are the rates?

yep, they one of the biggest ports in the US in savannah, and also Brunswick. the rates aren't that great, I think most of em average 1.25 to 1.30 per mile plus drayage charges are 50 to 80 in or out.
probably cheaper than Baltimore, why not something besides containers. -

Some are at $1.10 a mile and are extremely heavy.

Well then Cussmar.....Either sacrifice your Hometime......Or move the containers, you can make a good living moving Containers, Guys here in Chicago are grossing between $3,000-$4,000 per week and Home every night working Local or 150 mile radius

Yeah. Savannah is the main port, 4 rail yards in Atlanta, and a bunch of uncommon railyards/dropyards.. Everyone is in containers so the rates are pretty trash. It depends on the company you're with.

You don't have to sacrifice rates to be home at least every other night
