I took them all off my Truck 10 + yrs ago. I’ve got all new LEDs, plan on putting them on again. As far as factory wiring vs. cheap chrome shop harness, I’ve had good luck, with the cheap stuff. The original harnesses with all the connections, cause problems. The bullet type connectors, with dielectric grease, and a piece of electrical tape around it, stays trouble free.I like the look of lights, what I can’t stand is when they put wrong colors on. Whether it’s red facing front, or like last week, all green front facing lights. I don’t know how they get away with it. Red for rear facing/ Amber for front facing, per DOT regs. Makes good safety sense to Me.

@JonJon78 Since you told me to post, here’s what I’m going to do. I got the amber inner air breather lights and I’m switching them to white and then going to pull the bands off and run white LED strips on the back of them.

Very nice. I've thought about getting the inner lights. What are you splicing them into?

Just be prepared to argure what defines "required lighting", and what isn't, when some LEO gets excited about a light being out. :)

Probably want to print out the regs to show them, but... Then they might try harder to find something else.
