That is entirely up to you. If you are bored with tank work and you can live with the pay cut i say go for it. If you find that it isnt working out or it isnt what you thought it would be you have your tank work experience to get yourself another job doing that. I will say this about that I work crane operators every day and they all say the same thing. It is all cool and everything in the beginning. You start out running a boom truck thinking "This is the greatest thing ever, I want to run something bigger". That goes on until you are in the biggest one your company has and then you realize all the responsibility you have being the biggest dog in the yard. It is at that point guys usually want to go back to running something smaller.

There is some truth to that. I've been involved with some very big super loads and big crane jobs. It's really cool when you first do it, after that it's just another day of hard work. I wouldn't trade it for anything though simply for my own satisfaction. It's sometimes one of those jobs that you cuss yourself for getting into it while you are doing it, but after it's all over and you can look back, you can see what you accomplished and it's all worthwhile.

Just keep in mind, the bigger the crane and the bigger the trailer, the more work it is. It usually pays great though when you get into the bigger stuff.

Much heavier. Ether that or long term daily use of the wacky weed. Look at the guy from cheech and chong. His brain is permanently detoured.
