It's just a matter of time, and insurance companies may be behind it !!
Its already started in some workplaces, and will spread to trucking.
No smoking, obesity, etc etc..................... -
Fixxed.
I understand some people cant help it, but overweight is never 'healthy' or 'good' medically speaking.
(No, not a rip on fat people.
)

yea, your right. According to the Military I am supposed to be 170 pounds per my height, and when I got down to that I was skin and bones. I am 5'9 and 230 pounds at least, but I work out consistently in my own home gym with all the trimmings. I love lifting weights. I'm not a bodybuilder, but a power lifter, but I am tremendously overweight as per that BMI thing.
-
Don't worry Cruz, so is just about every member of the US and all other country's, Olympic teams.
So is every football player or other pro athlete.
Muscle ways more than fat, and some people have body's more genetically made to be large and strong.
If the gene pool was not so screwed up and allowing everyone to survive and breed it would be better. But it is what it is. We would have allot less inferior skinny people though. -
I don't know that I would call anyone inferior, but I have seen small people do just as much as big people and I have seen big people do just as much as smaller people. Ability, determination, and attitude should be more important than this BMI thing. One poster on this subject said he seen a big guy climb all over the truck with no problems. I believe it.

i'm at 6'2 and weigh 340 and run circles around guys half my weight. i climb into the back of my truck all day long delivering milk, usually around 13 or 14k total. i have no idea what my BMI is though. i saw a personal trainer and he said my goal weight should be 250 for me to have a bmi in the low 20's so i'm guessing its pretty high, none the less i am very strong. not all fat dudes are weak fat slobs.
-
I think this is true in some cases. Some people might seem fat or heavy but do have muscle as well and shouldn't be underestimated.
-
Being overweight is an individual issue. I'm 6'2, 285 lbs. My physicals are rock solid. Blood pressure, heart beat, cholesterol, etc. all normal. If you can handle the pressure, the ######## and the hours, more power to you and us! So don't be quick to judge a big boy not being able to do a good job.

If a 360 pound driver lost 100 lbs. that would mean a carrier could haul an additional 100 pounds of freight. Let's say the carrier moves LTL freight at a rate of 50 cents a pound. That would mean the revenue per load would increase by $50.00.
10 trucks = $500.00 dollars, 100 trucks $5,000. 1000 trucks $50,000. 10000 trucks = $500,000. and if your as big as Swift, 20000 trucks = $1,000,000.00 . If this applied daily, it's a lot of money.
