They may have in the past, but they have adopted NSC Standard 13.

I always recorded the location of fuel stops along with the number of litres. Very handy in case of an IFTA Audit.

If you are inspected, and the inspector sees from your fuel receipt that you stopped for fuel and did not show the stop in you log, that could be listed as a violation.

    TO Scalemaster and others

    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=395.8&guidence=y

Question 23: When the driver's duty status changes, do §§395.8(c) or 395.8(h)(5) require a description of on-duty not driving activities ("fueling," "pre-trip," "loading," "unloading,", etc.) in the remarks section in addition to the name of the nearest city, town or village followed by the State abbreviation?

Guidance: No. Many motor carriers require drivers to identify work performed during a change of duty status. Part 395 neither requires nor prohibits this practice

My company does not require to log and or show fuel stops!

Your previous post indicated that you do not show fuel stops, but keep the receipts.

The way of the wording is that you do not log them period.

There is indeed no requirement to identify the stop other than break, or by on duty activity other than the position on the grid and the city involved.

I am sure that Scalemaster did not need to have the rules waived in the face for something that you stated misleadingly.

    Just my opinion though.

not quite sure how it was misleading, I answered the original question. I dont show fuel stops on my log , but keep the receipts.

Yes you are correct I do not log them period

He was the one saying that I could get a log violation, when I can not so that is why I posted what I did about the rules. Maybe he did not know about it.

Your way of stating it leads one to believe that you do not show a fuel stop on your log in any way shape or form. But that you keep the receipt.

You are in effect still showing the on duty not driving activity in the city and state where you fueled, but not showing the identity of the activity as to what it is.

    There is a difference.

    lostNfound Thanks this.
