That is your choice.
However, I only show the city and state where the duty changed. When I fill up, I am not driving, so the duty changed.
Had an level 1 and the inspector asked for the last time I fueled the truck and the receipt for it. Provided it and then he looked at the log to verify that a change of duty happened at the city and state involved.
Also, if your records are pulled by the auditor during a company inspection, then you run the risk of false logs for not reporting the fuel stops.
As I stated, it is your choice.Everett, lostNfound and THBatMan8 Thank this. -
THBatMan8 Thanks this.

In reality, a good PTI/DVIR will take you at least 20 or so minutes. Do what you log and log what you do.
What irks me is when company policy wants me to log 15 minutes for fuel, when it doesn't take me that long to fuel the truck even when my tanks are bone dry. -

The subject of Question 23 is identifying "work performed during a change of duty status". You still have to identify the change of duty status and the location (city/state) and duration.
What you don't have to show is "a description of on-duty not driving activities (fueling, pre-trip, loading, unloading,, etc.)"
When I check your log, I do not need to know WHAT you did, just where it was and how long.
Your company may not require you to log fuel stops, but FMCSA requires you to log all change of duty status locations.
A side note - you all are familiar with abbreviations like PTI and TC in logs (pre-trip inspection and tire check). Years ago I had a guy that was putting PIPI in his log every few hours. New one to me. I asked him what PIPI stood for. He said, "You know - Pee Pee!." Too much information....... -
well i guess if they can fuel aircraft while they fly---maybe his company does the same for trucks---just havnt seen it

Guys like Aggie = job security for me. Keep up the work.

i think any change of duty --no matter how small should be at least flagged---
kinda looks suspicious when you have a straight line for 11 hours in the book -
What or how does this work for e- logs then , you just push a button too fuel the refeer then, still learning on them, thank's
