UPSF in Indy has called me 3 times in the past month. I doubt he'll be sitting long when company like that starts calling old applicants

Everything went great. Now, I’m just waiting on the results from the drug test and background check and then I’ll be joining the team.

Failed. Was all that weed we burnt right after your wedding.

    Lol.

    You're a shoe-in, bud.
I'd hire you in a second.

Don't forget about us non-union guys when you have to start wearing a uniform everyday. ;)

    207nomad Thanks this.

DOT physical was done yesterday but I’m still anxiously waiting for the background to come back so I can officially give my notice and move on to the next chapter.
I disclosed everything and they didn’t have any problems with it, but I hate waiting...
Patience is the one virtue that I do not have time for.

    Kennyworth67 Thanks this.

I have an app in with UPSF right now for an open position in SLC. So, How do you like it? From the last post date I see you've only been there a month(?) So, How's it going?

It’s going well so far. It is certainly different than pulling tank like I was doing, or OTR/regional that I’ve done.
You’re always on the go, even if you start early, you’re late. Some of the other union members that have been there for 20+ years are crusty and treat you like a second class citizen. You get lost on a regular basis, you see some stops and wonder how the hell am I going to back a truck in there?
But, the pay and benefits are pretty good, overtime after 8 or 40 hours. And if your shop is extremely short staffed like the one here is, you get overtime every day. And, you will get in really good shape.
Am I going to stay here and make a career at UPSF? Don’t know. I have a contingency plan in place and if my family life can’t adapt to the UPSF schedule and way of life, then I might not be here too long. But that’s a story for another time.
So far it’s going pretty good.
