I'll ask- Why not just back it on? Why worry about swinging it?
I always hated backing on or off a trailer when you can't see ground/trailer/tires. And that was on a deck over, that's higher up than a step.
To haul or not. 2800 link belt.

You answered your own question.DDlighttruck and MJ1657 Thank this. -
The worst thing that can happen is you turn your step into a beam trailer.
PeteyFixAll and old iron Thank this. -

I still live by the only stupid question is the one that never gets asked. And, sometimes learning the WHY you are doing it that way, is better than just being told "that's just the way things are done".macavoy and johndeere4020 Thank this. -
Orangees, johndeere4020 and DDlighttruck Thank this.

Im worried about this. RGN would be better than a stepdeck.
It's not the weight end to end long ways it's going to be that gravity finding center high sideways... you are gonna be tippy on that stepdeck.
That is all Im going to squeak about on this piece of equiptment. There are many others better than me who will talk about this with sense than me. But my first thought is that thing is going to be so tippy.RGN and johndeere4020 Thank this. -
johndeere4020 and MACK E-6 Thank this.

Having done something for 50 years is no guarantee that one hasn't been doing it WRONG all that time.
You don't find that often, but it does exist.johndeere4020 and DDlighttruck Thank this. -
Well the seller made a loading dock from his pile of mulch. Then he drove it on forward and swung cab to face back.
The weight was the reason for my question. I can legally load 47,500. Some one didn't know the real weight. Broker said 45,300. Buyer said 47,300. Seller said 42,000.
My scaled weight was before I added 85 gallons of fuel.
I'm half way across Pennsylvania. No tippy, to this load. But then I don't max the speed limit.
I usually drive around 62. Takes a little longer but less stress.
Thanks for all the replies and the wisdom. I have found this forum has a wealth of experience and appreciate all the help.
I did make this trailer a partial beam trailer once. I tried driving a green colored paver over the tail. It broke rub rail channels on both sides, right behind my front axle, . That is when I fixed the deck and will not haul any equipment that is paving related.
