No, actually dispatch isn't correct, and as you are advancing the load (going to the receiver from the truck stop) it's an invalid use of PC,
There is nothing in the guidance that allows this, and the whole "returning to original location" isn't something that's in the guidance either.

They tell me grey area one more time I swear someone's going to the E.R. that's an excuse for breaking the law and patting yourself on the back and I really don't like it, especially when I'm the one who suffers the consequences.

Based on the 'schedule', you would have had 11 hours between ETA and delivery and could've fit a full 10. If that doesn't work, you're opposed to an 8 hour split. It doesn't have to be exactly 8 hours either. 9.5 hours still works for a split.

Dispatch shouldn't be encouraging falsifying logs, but majority of reefer carriers would expect that load to be delivered completely legally. Funny part is Dispatch didn't even have to suggest that option at all, given the legal solutions at hand lol. Reefer work isn't fun, healthy, or suited for everyone. If the job's not a good fit, then it's not a good fit.

No pats on the back for anyone IMO

Yeah, that was concerning, why express to me to do it illegally, I told him I could do it legal, but I think he was more worried about how much time I would have when I left there?

You'd have plenty of time at the receiver. 7/8 in sleeper at the truck stop. Then your 3/2 off duty at the receiver ... stops your clocks and you recover your time prior to the 7/8.

If you know you can do it legal, do it legal and ignore your dispatcher. You still get it there on time and he can stop his whining.

If dispatch is conversing with you in hypotheticals the answer is no, just because screw them and their CYA mode. I'd do it and not have even asked dispatches opinion on it, but that's just me.
