Their FSC last week was .66 or .67 per mile. They pay all dispatched miles. No trailer rent and they maintain the trailers.

I personally know 7 guys running over there. 4 on hoppers 1 on dumps and 2 on tanks. The hopper guys all averaged about $235k gross last year and all of them are on track to match or beat that this year and go home every weekend or every other weekend. End dump guy grossed $310k last year, but works 3 months out then goes home for 2-3 weeks. The pneumatic guys both stay out a month or two at a time and grossed over $300k last year and both will beat last year’s numbers even with things slowing down for them currently.

The hopper guys are all mostly older farts that have been there for many years and call themselves “retired” as they all used to pull dumps there but didn’t want to get too physical with stuff any more. The one end dump guy has no life outside of the truck whatsoever, no wife no kids no house etc, but he is completely happy doing what he does. The two pneumatic guys have been there since 2009 and will probably retire after next year. And retire very comfortably I might add.

Oakley is a good place if you can roll your sleeves up and work. Yes, you have to shave. Yes, you go where you’re told. Some people can hack it, others cannot. But the opportunity is there and I will not hear slander as to otherwise.

Where at in Arkansas are you? Tons of work that Oakley does just in AR/TX/OK with hoppers.

And you should know you're not gonna clear that $5k after expenses running cheap freight regardless if you have to pay for a trailer or not.

    UItraman Thanks this.

And you should know not everyone needs to clear 5k after expenses. The guy that made the least average $2400 a week after fuel and deductions whether his truck moved or not. The highest averaged $4800 a week after fuel and deductions whether his truck moved or not.

Like I told you in a different thread, consistency is key. Stop chasing your tail.

So what are the hoppers guys running at? I would guess around $2.40 all miles.

    It's okay but nothing special.

That $235k probably around half of that would go to all costs like fuel, truck payment etc.

Then you're left with what a walmart or LTL driver company driver earns.

Do we all go out and take on the risk and headaches of being o/o to earn what we could as a company driver?

Shaving would be a deal killer for me lol.
Oakley is okay but they ain't getting paid a lot.
Still is better than a lot of trash out there, will give you that.

2.35-2.50 depending on how much weight they haul. Yeah it’s nothing to write home about, except for the fact it is there like clockwork. Week after week after week. Some weeks might be all go and no quit. Other weeks might only have two or three runs. But over the course of a year it averages out to a very comfortable living if you aren’t careless with money.

The hopper guys all have paid for trucks. One has a 2022 389 he paid for in cash. They all take home over any company driver. $130k and up. The dump and tank guys take home even more.

Oakley guys are getting paid just fine. Go ask any of them.

Agreed, this guy has no clue what his numbers are, any mirror fogger can make it when rates are $5/$6 per mile, but only guys running a tight ship, that know their operating costs will make it through this downturn.
