Is there anybody else that lost their s*** when they heard "crash event detected"? Not sure why, but I cannot stop laughing watching this video hearing that.

I like my APU. I didn't buy it and have it installed though. Mine was on the truck I bought when I bought it. Guy that had it before just idled it rather than spend the $50 (rough estimate) that I spent to get the APU to run. I like the APU. I worry more in regards to noise about people around me hearing it if or when the covers on the APU begin to rattle. Otherwise, noise doesn't bother me a bit and I sleep like a baby.

This subject reminds me of fueling at Loves, Joseph City, Az. then parking for the night. My engine was off. I was awaken about 2 am by what I thought was my neighbor's APU getting fired up. I went back to sleep. Woke up at 6 am and my left tank was empty. So the "APU" was actually a suction device draining my tank. Should have looked out the window......of course the space was empty and he was long gone.

I got used to sleeping with truck idling all night. Then had truck with Optimized idle and it would start engine every 30 minutes when sleeping, I got used to that. Now have truck with 8 batteries and electric A/C and bunk diesel fired heater. It can run on batteries about 8 hours. Then engine will start automatically and run 2 hours to recharge batteries. I'm used to it.

So you will probably get used to sleeping whatever your truck has.
