Today at work, this very subject came up just at the end of the day, a guy says to me "careful! He's got a 45 in his truck (personal truck), I said, hope he can get to his fast than I get to mine! He says "not on you?, and I said, why, he then replies, that's illegal! I ask him to give me the FMCSA ruling code, so I can see it? He has no idea what I'm talking about, my god! Why do some state the law when they have no idea what it is! If it illegal! It would be in the FMCSA book

5 seconds not under stress of a violent attack! Try that when you believe your life or the life of a loved one is in danger!

Personally! I carry in condition one, but that's my decision, might not be for all, if you do choose to carry this way, practice practice practice

I'm just saying what's legal, not saying I follow the law, but not saying I don't, nobody needs to know but me.

Western Dist. has an armored division as well as a company called AATI, both have drivers that are armed.

Retired cops, in most places, can carry concealed pistol. We have a ritired copworking on my account and I
It's been AT LEAST 15-20 years IF IT EVER WAS in the DOT regs. I have my doubt it was ever in DOT regs. I know when I got my CDL, and not only do I read the regs, not trade rumors, but I've never seen ANYONE quote the reg or mention the reg number so it could be looked up. My money says urban myth until proven otherwise.

The short version of ALL GUN DISCUSSIONS IN TRUCKING is "you have to comply with all law everywhere you go, or ignore them." There is no reason to believe ANY gun law applies specifically to trucking. DOT Regs make it very clear you can't carry so much as 1 unopened beer in your truck, but they NEVER mention firearms.

I've tried to figure this out for years and here's the best I've come up with.Go to a FFL/gun store and have him ship it to your hometown FFL/gun store or another FFL/gun store on your route home. FFL licensed gun stores can ship to other FFLs. Worst case you pay both FFLs a fee. My nearest FFLs charge $25-50 to transfer a firearm.

If you want to be risky/illegal, strip the pistol, ship the pieces in seperate FedEx or UPS packages home. Do Not Use Post Office. Technically some of the pieces, without any other pieces, are a firearm. I'd use the gun store transfer process, or only use a gun cheap enough you could throw it away if need be.
