All endorsements will be of benefit.
Also, TWIC and Passport or Passport Card for entering Canada.
TWIC is not needed for Canada but is required for entering military bases, ports, federal property.

I'm a newbie too, haven't done the course yet. Are the different endorsements always offered where ever you go do the course? I could see how a company-paid course for a place delivering milk might not be too into offering hazmat training. Is this an issue, or can you always opt to get extra endorsements?

with the new eldt training the school has to offer hazmat, passenger and school bus but you can take tanker and doubles/triples on your own.

Ah, thanks. What do you mean when you say "on your own"? Do you mean I need to go find another school that offers that and do it somewhere else later? Or I can do it then and there but must pay more?

You study for them "on your own".....then take the requisite test(s) at a local DMV office....then you get your endorsements....and then later go out and make all that (extra) money you would not have otherwise made as a CDL holder without them......:Transportation cost

Oh ok, so I study myself, outside the school. I read up on it, watch youtube videos, like that? DMV must have some study materials for it, right?

I don't have a smart phone. Is there a separate cdl manual for a Tanker endorsement? Or is it in the main manual?

Most of all of the endorsement tests are really common sense and practice. I still use this site to take and retake the tests just to keep up on things and when its time to renew things.. 2023 FREE CDL Test Practice - All Endorsements
