tomtom truck maps/routes

I was told from tom tom that they do not have a truck version.

 

Tomtom does not support a truck routing version, nor do they intend to enter that market at this time.

I sure can't afford that, I just bought a XXL 540S refurbished for $60.
I slipseat and I'm trying to improvise a dock I can easy set up...
any ideas?

Even a Garmin 465T will leave you wanting.

You gotta be smarter than the GPS.
(especially running local or last miles)
I got in the habit of not turning it on until I was very close to my destination as it would not recalculate route changes correctly and kept trying to run me back to the original route starting point.

Have a map book backup.

Google is your friend...

I like it best in the snow or fog with limited visibility it shows you the street names and will help you from missing turns. (as long as there isn't a turn real close to your turn)
