TONU and Not Paying

CHR did not pay me TONU either (lousy $150 - is it their TONU default pay?), despite having it in writing and invoicing it, their accounting just told me to call the broker back to ask him to do this and do that..., then when I did, they said they would do it but never did...I felt like they were fooling me. I just did not bother any more. This way I should not feel too bad falling out on their loads either. TONU is like Detention, too much hassle for too little. I cannot declare not to haul for them though. Things like these need to be best avoided and if they happen just absorbed with calmness.

It only proves, that the big guys CHR, TQL, JB Hunt, XPO are only as good as the last load they treated you with.

I don't know about filing on a broker's bond, but I understand that it should not be done frivolously
(100 - 500$). I don't mean to diminish the importance of principle but let's be pragmatic, if they black list you and they are one of the big brokers, or you take quite a number of loads from them, is it really worth it?

Well, I'm assuming they have blacklisted us because I reported it to truckstop. However, I'm just walking away because I need to spend my time actually getting jobs. There really is no push back against the companies.

Having been screwed in the past by brokers who claim $50 - $100 is the norm for wasting an O/O's day,.. the carrier I am leased with will not allow me to book any loads with brokers who will not sign their TONU clause.

It basically stipulates that if they cancel for any reason after a rate/con/load agreement was signed they pay me $500. Pretty much eliminates brokers cancelling loads at the last minute. Many of the scum bag bottom feeder brokers wont sign it.

Couple years back,. TQL in particular screwed me on an O/S load. Crane broke down and I didnt get loaded until almost 5pm. I had maybe 1 hour of day light left. TQL fined us $500 for the 10'8 wide load was not delivered 460mi by 10 am the next day. When I had called them and explained what was going on,.. She said it was not a problem. Obviously someone thought it was. Have not hauled anything for them since.

We've worked for TQL without issue, but I've heard a lot of stories. We haven't hauled for them in awhile.
