If you are over-heighth, you should have already planned your route long before you ever started on the journey.
Bridges have signs stating their heighth - if your vehicle is too high to clear the bridge - and assuming you haven't done what the picture of the Swift truck did too late - then you stop. Most end up having to back up - of course that would have to be done with police help (though several have done it without it, and frankly, you are asking for a lot of liability issues if someone rams into you).
Other have simply dumped the air out of their airbags and/or let air out of the tires to clear the bridge (though usually after they have already stuffed the trailer under the bridge).
Too big for the bridge

Wrong!
Right
Let us just say that Swift is uh, not Very Swift! -
Wow, they're really that bad huh?

Ouch, police help. Seems to me this would be incredibly embarrassing.
Yeah, that seems like that would make sense
I've gotta spend some time reading up on this swift co.
Sounds like it would make for some good reading

That's why we have reverse. If you are really in trouble, call the cops. They will come bail your butt out, block traffic and guide you back to a spot to turn or turn around. Better to call them yourself before someone else calls them to report you.

I thought Swift stood for "Swing Wide It's a Freakin' Truck"
