I actually lucked out with an interview with Perdue in a couple of days. They are local and I'd be gone 1-3 days at a time.
Too good to be true?

Bit of an update since last. I received a phone call from a local chicken plant about a week and a half ago. They had my application on file and were hiring drivers for and entry level training program. I was relieved because they usually require 2 years experience. A benefit on my end is they are typically gone 1-3 days and then back home.
Went through the interview, HR/Safety sign off, and drug test with no issues. I start orientation on Monday and will be placed with a trainer after Friday.Chinatown, Accidental Trucker, Crusader66 and 3 others Thank this. -

Are you in Delaware?Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Werner has a Best Buy account based out of Curtis bay MD. It’s a good paying, easy account. Some tightish backs but most are easy. No touch freight. 2-3 stops a day but last stop is drop and hook. Not overnight driving. You dont even have to start driving super early most days, can park truck at Curtis bay and drive personal vehicle home most days if you live close enough. And they dont run on weekends. It’s one of those Werner accounts that if you live close to the distribution center it could be a pretty sweet gig.
