What exactly are you trying to ask here? You wanted names of companies, people gave em to you. Then you said you're gonna buy your own truck and get rich pulling skateboard freight for your buddy. People aren't bein negative on here, they're bein realistic. You aren't gonna get rich driving a semi. If you disagree and know of a way to do it, go for it.

I agree with this. Seems like he is bragging about what he does have right now. Life is not about how much you have. Who gets it first. It is about living a good life, and being greedy. And you my friend are sounds veru greedy. Wanting it all in 1 year. You have to start at the bottom, and work your way into the good cash. And yes sire that is very real. Rubber wake up man. You are not being real about it.:biggrin_25523:

Well I just got into otr and im pulling for a starter company. the one thing i can tell you is that you are the key to what you make. if you run legal get your loads there and do your job the miles will be there. If you are late and always complaining and b___ching about the company. you will not get the loads or miles and you will have problems. Driving a truck for a company is like managing a store for a company you have the freedom to get the job done but if you dont do the job you wont have the job.

ducky if you want the money your lookin for and benifits, honestly look for a government job. USAJOBS.com

i work for the Department of the Army right now,I was a wrench turner but moved up to the inspector in our shop.To KEEP my job i have to maintain my tstus in the Army reserves.Well after 11 years i want to move on a tad.but anyways. i get paid a nice hourly wage over $25/hr,i pay 90 bux every two weeks for health insurance,TSP account(like a 401 but better)and yearly raises.

That sounds like the job your looking for.You can have mine..lol..but join the Army, have your CDL in hand and deal with a #### TON of politics..lol.

Ill take the pay cut to finally be out of the Army, and be on the road.I always loved driving Army Rigs and my wrecker.

I said I was considering my optons: drive for a company or maybe drive for myself. Just researching for now. And I have yet to have anyone give the names of some companies. I have seen where people on here have commented about some good ones and I have asked about them.

As far as being realistic, I am. If I am going to do something, I am going to make sure I benefit from it. I am not about to let some trucking company walk all over me while I am making them the money.

No I have never driven a tractor trailer but I can tell you that from all the things I have read so far it sounds like to me it has been the drivers that have let the industry get the way it is. For God sakes, stand up to these people and have some balls. If every trucker would tell these companies to go piss up a rope, we ain't driving until you start paying us right then things would get better. But you guys just seem to be content getting dumped on or something. It has gotten so far out of control now that it would be very hard to turn this industry around but it is not impossible.

Wanting at least 50k annual starting is being greedy? That's funny, haha.

I am not sure what you are talking about as far as bragging? I don't have anything to brag about. Just looking for a career change. I enjoy driving but I am not going to do it for free. If I go to a cdl mill school, the paid training looks like it is around $350-400 per week. I can't live off of that. I am the bread winner in my house. Wife is a stay at home mom.

So I am being realistic in the fact that I am not about to risk all that I have, which is not a whole lot but more than some, to go drive my arse off for beans while the trucking company is making millions.
