If you divide that into all the hours you put in...not good.

Here's the thing. Everytime I am on the road, I see a lot of trucks. Heartland being one for example. So I come home and research that company and it seems like there is a lot of negative stuff about them. But then there are some more positive posts so it all gets very confusing about what to believe.

    So what do you do?

Well I tell ya, I stick my hands in stuff that could potentially kill me everyday and get very little satisfaction out of it!

I don't know if you have seen some of my other posts on here but I work a part-time job a local wrecker service driving rollbacks. I love it. You can't hardly get me out of them when it is time to go. They have larger trucks as well that I want to learn to drive. I went and took the written part and got my instructional permit (class a). I am doing a little driving but I am getting the itch to really get some driving in. Since it is part time it is kind of slow going getting the driving time. But at any rate, I know I would love it. Been in the rollbacks 5 years now and ready to upgrade. I never get tired of it.

There ya go,i work on everything from humvee's to 5 ton troop cargo's to M915'a(freightliners) flat bed's tankers, you name it.Whatever the Army has with wheels and without i work on.Its fun at first but just gets old quick..lol...especially since they still use asbestos in everything and CARC paint.NOOT good stuff to be around..lol.

At any rate i got my CDl just through studying and driving our rigs, that and my military experience driving these things through the desert.Studied, went and took the test, first time pass. Now like you said to find that company that isn't a horror show is the key..lol

Sounds like you are way ahead of the game. I am sure you will find a good company. Especially with the military background. Companies like that.
