New to trucking and started out in flatbeds two months ago. Enjoy most things, but the tarping in the heat. How much would it be frowned upon to change carriers to tanker or box truck after only two months? Or is there a need to just suck it up and deal for a while yet?
Too soon to change?

Flatbedder’s opinion here....I think you should stick it out a little longer. In my opinion 2 months isn’t enough time to get a good feel on it or figure out your own system for getting things done.
DrDieselUSA, tscottme, TravR1 and 4 others Thank this. -
Where are you domiciled; Texas?
Don't waste time with a type of trucking you're not satisfied with.
You'll make more and probably really like tanker work. Which city are you near? -

Stick with 1 thing for a year, then if you want to switch, switch. You're not really going to be good at anything until you've been doing it a few years

If you have tanker/hazmat endorsements, you probably qualify for Gemini Motor Transport which is owned by Love's Travel Stops. They haul diesel & DEF to their truck stops. They also have dry van for supplying tires, etc. to the truckstops. They do hire new cdl grads right out of cdl school.

Take your shirt off and soak it in a bowl of water. Put it back on. Tarp comfortably. Repeat as necessary every half hour or so, depending on the heat.

They hire new cdl grads.
I don't what type dry bulk terminal that is. Could be cement or other stuff. I worked at one of their terminals and our dry bulk loads might be cement, flyash, flour, dry chemicals, etc. I didn't care for the cement because it was local runs, but the dry bulk chemicals and flour loads were usually 700 - 1000 miles or more.
