I'd stay away from Flatbed, especially in the winter, it's rough... That's just me though.

Stevens is a good starter company. Has some good coast-to-coast trucking. Some drivers stay for years.
I'm gung-ho reefer trucking and did it for 18 years because I like it.

Being out in the Midwest -- you'd soon learn to greatly appreciate that tanker trailers behave/track MUCH BETTER in strong crosswinds -- vs dry van/reefer/intermodal "boxes".

That's just one of the many advantages tanker freight offers.

If flatbed is your inkling... i'd look at Keim, tmc, melton. If throwing tarps is not your dream....
Swift had/has school in KC And reefer side too
Years ago, a coworker at ACT had arrived from Keim after year and half. They ran the Dog Snot ( industry term) out of him. That was before ELDs.... he lived in tulsa area. His Dad started dying and that lead to his departure

    Chinatown and nextgentrucker Thank this.
