I believe him. Store managers make over 100k some of them 200k with bonuses depending how busy their restuarant is. They treat employees well, other gifts including cruises etc are not uncommon. I have several friends who worked at in n out *none of them management* but they all told me the same

You cannot imagine the high wages people earned in Food Service, when I ran for Darden in Aberdeen my salary on strictly weekend work to 4 resturants turned out to be around 876 dollars net pay to me minus withholding that included 100 to uncle sam and 75 to state W2 beyond normal deductions. If I did not have that the net would be over a thousand dollars for two days work each week.

The rest of the week belonged to me. Literally subject to call.

Every in & out is busy to the gill all the time hardly place to sit and eat sometimes. Was in my hometown last summer. It’s in the middle of nowhere. Could barely find a table for me and four friends to eat. People taking selfies in front of store. It’s a tourist attraction now. I asked my friends “what the heck?” They said it’s busy all the time they don’t even eat there anymore they go to a local burger joint now. Which has better burgers imo.

I believe they pay very well. I hardly hear about them hiring drivers. At the end of the day it’s Foodservice though. I don’t think they carry much frozen but probably a boat load of potato’s which are the heaviest to unload. They might have it easy and electric pallet jack the stuff in.

    REALLY?

    That's awesome.

You should see some of the places back home we grew up in.

There was a Hollander Eating place down the block from where we were that is now a Thai Restaurant. They still retained the windmill neon sign over their door. (Which no longer works)

Yeah social media has helped In & out even more. The town I grew up in is Merced CA. It’s about 80k people which to me is small. That in and out off hwy 99 is busy. They used to have truck parking but got rid of it. But you can still park next to it on the street. But a block over there’s a local place that’s been there forever called H&W. It’s old school drive in like sonic but was before sonic. Place been there 20 years or longer. Best double bacon burger and you can get a 32oz shake and with real ice cream. Burgers are big. You drive up and waitress comes out or you can order out the window no inside eating. It doesn’t look like much either.

I grew up in Taverns and Formal Resturants before that.

Mom used to order ground sirloin lean (Sysco or US Army Aberdeen was our Supplier) something like 93% and 7 of fat, mix up about 2/3 pound with onion, peppers and a couple of other things into the patty, cooked it well. Stuck it on two fat seasame buns with all the trimmings on top. Cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato etc. Everything.

She's passed on for years. Try as I might I can never replicate that burger. I did come close a few times. It was good with that lean meat helping out growing teenagers.

You will earn every penny doing foodservice, you can make 6 figures, but you will realistically work 60 to 70 hours a week. After 18 years and 2 major surgeries I called it quits.
