Either one can have bad weather. The worst white out conditions I have seen have been on 11.
17 has a few more hills but a whole lot more passing lanes. They do a pretty good job keeping up on the hills.
17 has less of those drivers Zeviander refers to.
It's pretty rare I see a day/ross truck on 17 in the winter, I thought they stuck to 11. One of the reasons I prefer 17. Very little traffic.
This was on 17, near cavers if I remember correctly.

Coyote makes a good point. Are you new to winter driving OP ? If so Google how to make a survival kit for your tractor if you're going to be running winter time long haul in Canada. Save your receipts. Buying and building a truck survival kit is income tax deductible.

A close buddy of mine is looking for work. He has a truck and wants to run long-haul, alone or with a team out GTA, Ontario. Any companies you recommend that pay well, have good work and hire O/O?
Thanks -
The weather here in Ohio can get really bad fast, as well. That video of the driver that almost got face punched....brought tears to my eyes....literally. I mean really, wtf? thanks for sharing. Good reality check; could be any one of us; any day. Be safe, bro's.

You're kind of in the wrong thread for that post, but I'll give a canned answer anyway. Since deregulation 26 years ago it's all been hit and miss. Period. Just keep searching these types of forums and Googleing the same thing. There isn't much loyalty anymore between carriers and drivers and carriers and O/O's. Lot's of turn over. Just like the local fast food joint. Think 'fast freight joint' instead. Two things for certain. If you own your own power, then you'll always have work .... somewhere .... Also ..... it's very likely you'll move from carrier to carrier .... that .... sadly .... has become the industry norm ..... and is expected from both sides ...... God, I hope I can retire soon. ........... Luck'
