A few days ago my DM informed me that my truck was supposed to be a team truck, so...
Tomorrow I lose my shiney new truck.
I spoke with the driver I am swapping trucks with. He is in an '07 (I think, the number is only a couple thousand higher than my old one) Volvo with 503k.
What a let down after having this 2011 Cascadia for over a month.
We were supposed to swap trucks this evening, but he was just leaving San Antonio as I was being unloaded here in Houston. So we'll meet up in the morning for the swap.
He sure got excited when I told him what I was driving.![]()
Totally bummed

Man that sux. Well, at least no one will want the volvo so you don't have to worry about getting it snatched out from under you.
Don't the volvos have a little more room than the cascadias? If so, that's a plus. If not it sux even more.
Maybe the other driver is a very neat and clean person and you're getting a "like new" truck? Maybe all the kinks are out and it runs and drive perfect?
I'm just trying to cheer you up some. Hopefully it'll all work for the best. -

I'm sorry Moose! That does suck!

The Volvo seems to have more usable storage space, more little cubbies to stash stuff.
The Cascadia is a bit roomier overall, and the bunks are larger. I was finally able to stretch out when I slept, instead of being up against the wall at both ends.
The Cascadia also has a much better electrical system. In the Volvo I couldn't use my 12V oven because it would blow the fuse every few minutes.
Maybe it was just the one I had that was so dodgy - I hope so. I've gotten used to cooking (well, heating stuff up) in the cab.
The Volvo only uses a single 20 amp fuse for all the 12V plugs, but the Cascadia gives each plug a fuse. Makes a big difference. -
An 07 with over 500K? You will be getting another truck shortly anyway. Does the new old Volvo have the new QC? I am in an 07 Volvo with just over 500000 on the main odometer, the one that actually displays on the dash is about 4000 miles less. I am still using the old QC and paper logs. Been told that my newer truck is just around the corner, but they don't know which corner!

Sounds like there's a lot of us with '07 Volvos over 500,000.

Swift has a truck shortage and they aren't doing anything about it, i.e. buying some more trucks. -
All cascadias are for teams. If a team on your fleet has an older truck you have to trade with them. This is from my DM to me when I said I'd wait for a new truck.
