i just did a google search...there are like a zillion companies claiming tough time ahead..

so in other words, "same ole, same ole" rhetoric

the owner might have to sell one of his 2,345 vacation homes or one of his 46,389 personal jets.

Some news outlet needs to follow up with a Driver Shortage story.

I read it as......the economy is not, nor was it ever as good as people thought it was.....creating the overcapacity. Loads ain't moving on a.high level, I am thinking people ain't spending money outside of what's necessary. I don't even know why folks went out and bought trucks when it was really good. The last 2 companies I was with, the rates were good, but to me they weren't so good to where it was killer good profits. Maybe it's how they operated. I don't know. Many folks are stuck.on this 2 dollars a mile rate

I read somewhere they handed out something like 250k new authorities in the last few years, pretty sure it was some discussion on here but dont recall, either way that adds up to a considerable amount of overcapacity when the economy stops setting records once a week. Then you have all the suspense of a presidential election coming up, and not to get too political but there's serious differences in economical ideas between side A and B, that I'm sure has businesses putting expansion plans on hold.

I think his prediction is partly true. Gonna be rough times for him perhaps. Especially after a quarter of those company drivers pulling down those epic $500 a week checks.

Other megas as well. Megas pull for top dige.

The bazillion independents that mavericked up putting a kink in his slinky.

Sure is hard to get a parking spot for so few drivers.

The place I picked up yesterday was beyond busy.

The place I delivered to today was beyond busy.
I'm guessing that's due to a bad economy.

We're all booked out until the end of the month with excellent freight.

We can all always start an old trucker's grow in Oregon or someplace.

    Hopefully we will all get
    More money
    More miles
    And more hometime

i think also, all those crashes, cargo claims, etc, etc, putting a huge dent into thier self insured funding, not earning any interest....gotta make up all that money before you can show a profit.

just like when someone shoplifts from a store..it takes x number of sales, to offset that/those stolen item(s)

Frankly, I think its BS from a company that swallowed a big company and is struggling to make it work.

Look, people didn't stop buying stuff on January 1st. There are cycles. He talks about all the O/O's who bought equipment, yet never mentions that most of them went out.

To me, all of this gibberish is just BS.
Think of it in this way; have you stopped buying groceries?

But, let's move on to the driver shortage.......
