Been thinking about towing my truck back to Kansas City to get worked on, it is in Fort Lauderdale FL right now. Anyone know a company that does this? I see some semi trucks that have the attachment to carry a single truck. Not sure who does this or if it is just something people do on their own equipment? And if this is done will need to get a power only company to pick trailer up and deliver as well.

Any one have some thoughts on this idea or know people that do it?

Didn’t this happen a couple weeks ago? I’m surprised to hear it’s still broken.

I would tow it as soon as I'd see the first sings of inability of the local shop to identify the problem or if it required some crucial and expensive repair but on which a lot of things on the truck would depend on. Most likely it would cost me something close to 10-12 grand - for 1300 miles. I dread a situation like that but that's the risk I take when going too far from home.

Another possibility is if you know someone willing to bobtail down there and can find a fifth wheel lift to rent.

If its just a bobtail and a midroof you could likely find a hotshot with a lowboy to yank it. It would be cheaper then a wrecker otherwise if you have another truck just rent a 5th wheel lift. If it has a trailer thats likely going to be a split yank. Thats going to be at least 4 or 5k minimum

Yes and waiting on approval from my Insurance for claim. I am gonna have to sue the towing company that messed it up. The quote is 35K to fix it so they may end up trying to total it out. If that is the case I will buy it and take it back to my shop. IF the approve it and give me the check I may tow it back and have my shop fix it for a lot cheaper. Since it is a insurance claim that shop is only willing to do it the OEM way and that is fine as well.
I did not file until Monday afternoon since I was waiting on the quote and still trying to get the tow company to pay for it. It has turned into a #### show for sure. The shop is qualified to do it at least .
