Good morning I have a question I have a 09 series 60 Detroit in a 4900 Ex western star a code came up# 21 tps sensor np I replaced the sensor on the throttle pedal code went out than came back I checked wiring all good. Called the local Detroit diesel dealer Wajax he mentioned something about older trucks can have an issue with the ground for the tps. To fix this they do new wiring from the tps to the ecm any one else no of this or had this issue. I'm still working the truck I haven't noticed any issues. The garage can't look at it till next week. Thoughts

Your throttle control goes to the CPC for your torque request. In that case, you need to check the wiring from your accel pedal to the CPC.
Check connector 1 on the CPC pins 7,8,9 to the TPS. Check for pin tension, corrosion, a voltage drop test with a load. If you don't know how to do any of those, bring your truck in to a certified WST dealer.

Thanks I can check that out Cpc is under the dash above throttle almost isn't it? The Detroit diesel garage which is Wajax has seen poor grounds they told me they do new wiring have you heard of this.

Detroit told me that the tps shares the ground work other things and over time it gets weak and throws the tps sensor out... They say half a day to run new wires right to u the ecm to eliminate the problem.... Seems like a pain in the ### to me...
