Wow, you are a glutton for punishment ! I never told you TQL is a good broker to deal with if that was directed at me ? I've been hesitant to even call them due to all the negative feedback I've heard on them. This one just peaked my interest and when he called me back giving me my price I thought I'd try it.

Do you plan to haul more loads for them after all this has happened to you ? why ?

Yes every so often, even maybe this week I might even haul something for them. Why?
    * bank account running low again, and they do pay direct deposit most of the time in a day or two.
    * Not many companys will offer a fuel advance to move something, even though they set a record for the highest charge of a fuel advance $25.00
    * Every once in a while I'll get in a area where frieght is hard to find, but I'm getting better at that.
    * I don't like tarping anything! It doesn't pay any extra and its a insurance claim waiting to happen. No tarp loads Rule!!

I found this somewhere else posted on here by someone that I think used to work there. Enjoy!

Coming from someone who got sucked into working there, allow me to apologize for being forced to do what many of you are talking about.

I had a well paying job but took this because I got sold on it, and that's nothing against the recruiters, they're the nicest people you can meet. I worked there last year for about 3 months, and this is pretty much what it is. Here it is:

    1. After you get hired, you're an assistant, whereas you're told you'll go through training. Well, being an assistant there pretty much means you make check calls and lie to the carrier or lead them on to believe they are going to get detention time, because apparently the brokers are too cowardly to actually get on the phone and do it themselves. Most of the drivers who hear the whole "we'll look into it" or "I'm waiting from the customer's response," are being duped just so they'll finish the load.

    2. If you're a carrier frustrated about a load being posted within a 200 mile radius, imagine getting 100 calls on a load posted in let's say Chicago, but it really is picking up 150 miles away. Most pointless tactic ever, but the brokers never have to talk to those people so what o they care.

    3. I sold suits at a very young age, and we were obviously told to try to upsell no matter what, sometimes that would include people coming in to buy a suit for a funeral. I couldn't behave like that. And while I thought that was unethical, nothing compared to what I had to do last year lying and misleading drivers just so they would drop the load off. I've never seen that lack of ethics before.

    4. People looking to work there, understand while I was there I would look down every other day and see about 100 people there who just got hired. If you have no education and like sitting on your ### 60 hours a week lying and misleading honest hard-working people for about $2,000 a month for the first couple years, have at it. It really isn't for everyone. But you can go park cars or wait tables and make much more money in half the hours.

    5. Drivers/dispatchers, even though some of your requests can be a bit ridiculous at times in terms of detention, know that the person you're dealing with has worked there for 3-maybe 4 weeks and just giving you a script of b.s. and they're not going away form it becasue they don't want to lose their job.

I'm so glad that mistake is behind me, literally the most un-ethical company I have ever seen.

TQL will screw you over and if you complain about it they will not work with you. What it comes down to is that if you are being screwed and you want to continue doing business with them just shut up and take it, as that's what they want you to do. The moment you try to escalate it, you're banned.

On a separate note, take it easy with them. If they ask you for help and you do help them out don't expect anything in return, you're just another trucker who is getting paid for what you're doing. They are not familiar with words like "ethics" and "morals".

I never call them to book loads for my guys, instead I just wait for them to call me and negotiate a good rate. From previous experiences I already know they'll give me the wrong loaded miles and stuff...so just make sure you get a GOOD deal to make it worth it.

Glad I threw their carrier packet in the garbage. People llike this will oonly go out of business one way. And that is not hauling their loads. Weren't they having financial problems just a short time ago?

Well when I get my own authority I think I will take the stance of the carrier I am leased to now and put TQL on the no haul list.

Don't do that right out the gates gravdigr. You never know, maybe your first call on a load will be with an actual TQL agent with some authority to play upwards on the rate, instead of some college kid lacky. It does happen, I just never found a good one like that. Which is why I got aggravated and quit bothering because of all the games. There are a few guys on here who do really well with some TQL agents they work with regularly.

They are a waste of space. Period. You get transferred 5 times before you get talk to someone about the dang load your calling about. That of course is 200 miles away from where they posted it. Or I'm sorry that load is covered. They nnever had the dam$ load to begin with. At least Transcore is willing to start Doing something about it.

I agree 100% and don't bother myself. The catch here being, until he gets established he doesn't need to limit himself based on other's notions. Again, TQL is no different than any other mega brokerage, they do have to actively cultivate some carriers with reasonable, solid rates from time to time. And there are guys on here who claim to consistently get solid rates from them. Apparently they know someone at TQL we don't...
