i think every one is saying you shirked your task and for that you must take responsibility. paying attention is cheap not paying can get expensive.

Hey-I thought after the first post it was funny. Now it's hilarious.Ummm.Let's see-How do i do it differently?Well,it's their ball,it's their jacks,it's their game.IT'S THEIR RULES!!!Getting woke up and sounds like being that tired means bad load planning(TQL's fault, nope),not checking the securement of the load you were not allowed to watch being unloaded(TQL's fault, nope again).I worked for Matheson in Arizona doing post office stuff i never saw them not let a driver on the dock. Not looking in with a flashlight(it's dark, remember?)TQL's fault again?Nope again.
Where the problem originated at was you.your lack of doing basic things like checking load securement.Which would have told you there's no freight in the truck.Suck it up.You blew it.Start, middle and finish.
If you've had a similar problem before(i don't believe you really did the bust in the office thing)you should have learned the first time not to do things that cause problems like that.Otherwise,it happens again.Oh,just like this.Deja vu all over again.Take care.Brian -

Therw was no load to secure. No straps, tarps or chains. Just 20 inch tall full size skids loaded side to side in the nose of a 53 foot van. There is no securement to check. Yeah, I messed up and should have jumped up in the trailer with a flashlight and checked since i wasnt allowed on the dock. You are forgetting who make the initial and original error.Ratherridehorses said: ↑Hey-I thought after the first post it was funny.

Ive hauled plenty of loads for TQL and can honestly say that pretty much every load from them has an issue or problem that they forget to tell you about. The next load from them where a problem developes, im just going to take back to my shop and let the freight sit for a week or so and not return their calls. Lets see how well they like miscommunication and disrespect from my end. Been there done that too many times with TQL. The last load I did with them was last week when i went to a FedEx Freight dock to meet another driver from another company who was abandoning the load during transit after TQL lied to him about its destination. The original driver inquired wether the load was going to New York City when he got the load and TQL told him it was not. Well, the load was delivering in Farmingdale, NY on Long Island which is not technically withtin the city limits of New York City, but its the same since you have to pass through it to get to long island and long island is just as bad. Quite tricky and manipulative on TQL's part. Im tired of their ####. -

Im just tired of dealing with manipulative and ignorant people who do everything they can to put the shaft to truck drivers. The Post Office got their freight. Its all the same company and they have their own distribution center and they shipped their own mistake and corrected their problem. the broker is the one who is skirting out of paying on a technicality.BretStep said: ↑Why would you want to throw a temper tantrum and THEN begin acting like a rational human being? It is much easier to skip the first part. This is a good learning opportunity, and if you do manage to learn from your mistakes your life will be easier in the future.
Barging into their VP's office is very unprofessional. When negotiating the load you agree to what is on the load tender. When you signed it and sent it back that is what your end of the deal entails. If it changes after you have already picked up the load, then you re-negotiate. You have them by the balls when this happens. If you don't have it picked up and they call and tell you it is different, you are negotiating on an entire new load. You should consider yourself lucky that they even allow you to play their games after barging into their office like that. If you don't like how they roll then don't haul for them. It isn't a very difficult concept.
I don't understand why people get so excited over things ... life is so much easier if you just use your brain a little bit ...Click to expand...Click to expand... -
You still don't have a leg to stand on as far as your doing your end of the deal. I don't see how you can argue that you did because it is pretty simple. Deliver this to these 4 locations. Which you did not do. So you broke the contract. They don't have to pay you, even if you did "check in" at location 3 and 4.
Just learn from it and go on! If it is a good enough paying, regular run, and you can learn to do it efficiently every week or whatever, then I don't see how it differs from anything else. Just the way that particular system works. -

Well, i can tell you had a had a similar problem a few years ago and their attitudes changed when I showed up in front of the dispatching office, parked my rig and blocked the parking lot enterence, walked right by the receptionist and into the vice presidents office and interrupted a meeting and basically told him the way it was going to be if they wanted the current high dollar load that was on my trailer to be delivered. Everyone is a keyboard jockey and has a mouth and talks trash over the phone, but very few will have that attitude when someone is addressing you like a drill sgt a few inches from your face. I hate being irrate and displaying aggression but sometimes it is necessary to be heard and make your point when you are wronged.Click to expand...
Face it you screwed up, don't make it worse! They should pay you for PART of the load, but only part. Can you really prove what happened to ALL of the load? I know they could prove that some of it WASN"T delivered.Click to expand...scottied67 Thanks this. -
NYROADIE said: ↑I screwed up? I only failed to double check someone elses work and catch some government employees mistake. I doubt you read the original post completely. The third drop was signed for and the forth a letter was written stating the the post office has their freight, admitting their mistake but did not actually receive the freight at the final specified location due to the THEIR MISTAKE ! If you think TQL is being fair and ethical, you need a reality check.BretStep said: ↑HA OHH BOY you really know how take charge and show em who's boss! What ya gonna do when the LEO's show up?
