Yesterday I had this kid from Coyote trying to tell me $2650 is all they had in a $2600 posted load offer. LOL.

    It's so pathetic...

Could be true for them. But that would be because they did contracts in early 2017 based on 2016's rates. You can be quite certain that same 2650 was getting done for 2000-2100 at the absolute worst in 2015-2016. What goes around comes around I guess.

EDIT: I'm inclined to believe that line from brokers because I never ever ever ever ever use it as a bluff myself. I do realize that when other brokers use it it's like 80% air... Because they are bad at their jobs and don't know how to tell someone no without making up an excuse.

My most common reason for saying no is simply 'It'll cover for x' followed by silence. Just tell it like it is and people will actually respect what you have to say. Crazy how that works.

    Could be, I guess?

What was funny was I had just gotten off the phone with a guy I had offered $3500 to on a $3300 offering, 1,000 mile run. He told me no. It's all good.

Right while the kid from Coyote was using every line in the book, I said, "look my offer is going ONCE, GOING TWICE" and before I got to gone, my caller I.D. flashed. I looked at the number and guess who it was?

You got it, the guy who had just told me he couldn't take my $3,500 offer. LOL

I told the kid from Coyote, "I gotta go." He said, "WAIT WAIT!"

    CLICK. ;-)

This is so easy to solve. Give the load back to TQL and tell them to #### off for misleading you about the load. They are not going to put you on a do not load list for this. Everything on the phone with TQL is recorded and supervisors will go back and listen. You are not doing anything wrong. They did and they know it too, or their associate did. Maybe he will get his ### chewed. Don't sweat this stuff.

This. Most of the threats people throw around in this business are hot air... even though empty threats are about as safe/useful as an unloaded gun.

    Good point.
But who really wants to call TQL up to play games like this. There postings are flatout false. The rates are cheap. Some of the call reps are rude and disrespectful. They will cancel your load if they find a cheaper truck. They will not pay you if any issues arise from the shipment. This company has a very very bad reputation not only with carrier's but with its own employees having filed a lawsuit against TQL. Google TQL lawsuit.

Some will say "I've always gotten good loads from TQL" or "I've moved lots of shipments without any problems"

Is this a broker you really want to take a risk on?
