Sounds like your beef is with Wal Mart. If the broker pays you detention when they can't collect it from the customer they lose money. Sucks to be the guy at the end of the stick, but that's kind of the way it is. In the future I wouldn't accept loads going to Wal Mart DC's.

No, not necessarily, I held up my end of the agreement so I'm going to get whats mine.. its up to the broker to bill the customer or lose on his end.. Ive been doing walmarts a few times a month for three years and never had issues.. I know its this walmarts fault but the broker needs to work it out, I deal with him, not walmart..

Well there is plenty of good TQL agents out there.. Just get everything in signed writing before moving into anything and don't take any BS from them and you'll be fine.

Most of the Walmart Food DC's I go into are very sure to post a sign (at the window) describing their "late" policy and getting to the window and what not. The good news is Walmarts will now [mostly] let you in 3-4 hours ahead of the appointment as opposed to 2 hours that used to be the general rule.

REALLY?? I have always been told the earliest is an 1.5 ahead of your appt... and that is within these two months...

I go into them 2-3 times a month and make it a rule to go in to arrive at the gate RIGHT AT 2 hours ahead and have never been turned away, and always sent directly to a door (always frozen foods and fresh meats). As I write this I got to Walmart Pageland, SC today at 13:00 with a 17:45 appt, called and she said come in around 15:30 or so and they should take me ... we're fixing to find out.

    funny thing about walmart

if you get there (the guards window) on time, but not to the check in, they mark you late

that is absurd, it is not our fault of their sign in procedures are lengthy

my load pays from City A to City B, to from shipper to walmart, i arrive to the security guard desk at noon, and finally to the checkin window at 1230, NOT my fault or issue

blame walmart and their cumbersome sign in procedures

mind you, they expect you to give them 2hrs free

Well you can deal with other grocery receivers and boycott Walmart, these other grocers will jerk you around time-wise the same way, and will charge you (or somebody) 4 times what walmart charges. Frankly, I'd rather do a walmart temp controlled load then most any other grocer that I can think of. And I like their hours better.

BTW, they (Walmart grocery) let me in at 15:40 for a 19:45 appt.
