I understand the State to state thing, because it effects the IFTA tax in each state. I do not understand why they want the roads driven. I feel that if they want that information they can install a gps on our truck at their expense and track it them selfs.

It's called the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). It concerns that sticker you put on the truck every year with a different color and a picture of the state where the trucking company has its' headquarters. It is an agreement between all the states in the U.S., and all the provinces in Canada for your fuel taxes which must be paid to all the states in which you drive your truck. It's been in effect since about 1983 or thereabouts. Where have you been the supposed 10-years you've been driving?

They install a gps:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: They will make us install it. Any way I am installing a Globalwave cost $1150 and $32 per month for airtime AND includes IFTA mileage report. Since this one is small and can be installed inside, if some dirt bag decides what is mine is his, it will be tracked down.

the only breakdown that should be needed on roads is non toll roads and toll roads and I'm not sure if they even do that anymore

Are you on your own authority? Then the Q is: is it an audit?

I've had to keep track of mine for a while now. It's so you know how much to pay in fuel tax in each state. What's the big deal?
