Mantises are not impressed, this one holds the hornet so it can't sting while eating its brain...

Looks to me like mantises might be an answer, they sell nests of them (burpee?) or they can be found in the woods. I handled one just after it hatched and had my arms covered with the little buggers, at that point they are tiny. Put them in a paper bag and took the bag to a fruit tree with a mite problem and let them out. Next time I went by there was no more mite problem. -
