stop focusing so much on the miles driven, but rather on the pay per mile. I rather work smarter, not harder.

I drove about 130000 miles last year and made about 60k. Not all was pay for miles driven, but there was detention, extra stop, lump the load pay and whatever else. I don't want to work more, I want to drive less and get paid more.

    2)miles vs. pay-per-mile.
i would generally agree with the premise of more pay per miles vs. absolute maximum mileage. However, there are a few problems concerning this stance:

    a) Let's say you could get .45+ cents per mile (which you can). AND, let's say you can manage to achieve 2000-2500 miles per week under the .45+ cpm pay structure(possible, but not guaranteed).

So with this theoretical scenario, we, with a few accessorials thrown in, are at a comfy-cozy $1000-$1200ish per week. $1400 would be on the optimistic side.

One problem with this scenario is that it is physically and legally possible to run over 3000 miles per week. Therefore you(or at least i and a whole lot of other drivers) would feel that you/we could have run more and were underutilized for that week; We/you felt that we/you "missed out" on some income for that week.

The other problem is that, in actuality, are the drivers who are being paid .45 or more cents per mile able to achieve at least 2000-2500 miles per week consistently?
