I need to lay out a driveway for occasional (once per month) use by a TT. The entrance is about 30ft to the right of the path. in other words, it must jog to one side around the corner of a building and i can't find design specs on clearances. Anybody got a link? Advice? (besides make it really, really big). The TT can already get off the road fine. It will need to back in (no problem there). I can set it so there's a direct angle (about 30degrees) to the corner but then need to know from there.

What size/type trailer. Box, flat? Also any power lines etc that would cause problems? Need more detailed information for the guys to give you solid advice.

Call a paving company, or the State Dept. of Transportation and ask for designer/planner. They might have specific ratios and distances required or at least the source to find the info you need.
Remember, weight is critical if you are thinking of paving or concrete. The depth will be important to carry the weight involved.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
It will be on our own land so no worries about compliance. 48ft trailer. The tractor is not a sleeper, 20ft long. Driver says 60ft total length (by phone this AM). No power lines or trees, just the greenhouse corner to clear and I need to know how much to lead and how wide. Gravel surface. Only used about once per month. Wish i could draw it here.

It's about 30ft to the right and about 80ft off the road to the greenhouse. I can't move the entrance but I can angle the driveway to the right to make it a straight shot in to clear the corner. -
OK, ignore that. It totally messed up the spaces and formatting when i posted it.

Just for giggles, can you have the truck come over and back in on the current dirt and do measurements while doing so ? Who needs to get the city involved ?
Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
yeah, no need for the govt in this case. They already pissed me off and have made me do this and not a new, easy entrance straight back. There's a good bit of grading involved otherwise your idea would make perfect sense. Get the truck here when it's dry and have them show me.
OK, I've scanned a sketch. It's attached. Shows relative position of a TT backed up into the driveway where it will offload.Attached Files:

According to that sketch, any decent driver wouldn't need that to be very wide at all.
Looks like an easy back, if that drawing is anywhere close to scale. -
Thanks. Close to scale except the road is actually a bit higher up than pictured. How wide must the driveway be and how high should the cut go up before it angles to the road entrance? i know the tractor has to maneuver a bit.
I don't want to cut over to the right more than necessary but don't want to risk the greenhouse either.
