Why are you so anxious to see another death, it will not bring the LEO back or help his family, one death is too many.

Maybe the police chief will rethink their policy of sitting on the shoulder of the road in the dark.

That driver could come up with some excuse, like "I was trying to avoid a fox that darted out in front of me". Then he'd have the animal rights groups backing him because all humans and their activity is evil.

Yup it's too dangerous to be a sitting duck..... In the breakdown lane at night without any lights/ dare I say triangles.........all for a traffic stop. Times change the Leo's shouldn't be there!

This i do agree with. Regardless of fault I think it's an unnecessary risk to expose yourself like this.

There is only one excuse for stopping on the shoulder- to take a leak (if there is no exit ramp around) :biggrin_25514:

I never want to see him get the chair I am thinking Jersey will seek the chair. If it was his fault he should be punished, but if it was mechanical then just a horrible tragedy

And thats why I asked the question here crappiejunkie, I wanted others opinions.
I'm torn, most of the time I think I'm doing the right thing, sometimes I 2nd guess myself and think I'm betraying my bro. He is a hard headed, "I can do it without any help" kid even if its something he's never done. Yes I still drive, 20 yrs and counting w/out an accident. After his 2nd accident I offered to have him ride with me to maybe pickup some good driving skills/habits, nope, he wouldnt have it. When he got sent home without the truck I thought that was the end of it but the little ######## still went trucking. He has other skills to earn a living, he is an excellent car mechanic and would make waaay better money mechanicing than driving but he's the kind if you tell him he cant/shouldnt do something he will do it out of spite. I just dont want him to injure/kill someone with the truck, and I really feel like there's a pretty good chance of that happening.
I guess its his life to screw up, I've warned him and warned him about the consequences of his sloppy driving. I dont think theres anything else I can do:biggrin_25513: . Time for bed its been a long day, g'nite all.
