Starting to see more 122SD Freightliners out in the woods these days. Even Peterbilt makes a decent bush truck if you order the proper model.

John E., NCTru919 and OldeSkool Thank this.

Ya if you need an automatic I would look at Freightliner 122 trucks. Lots of log haulers here in Arkansas are going to them instead of the 389 Peterbilt.

So a Freightliner day cab with 435 hp and 3.58 ratio ultra shift would not be enough? Looking at one today. Also wanted to pull construction dump and equipment. Sorry for all the questions but I’m a greenhorn :D

3.58s are useless in the woods and with any kind of weight

John E. and NCTru919 Thank this.

A logger around just bought a new w900 with x15 and 18 sp. 24.5 tall rubber and Chalmers 44k rear I think. He said he thought hard about the automatic hard and wished he had bought the automatic.

Now he likes his 99 western star over the w9 but he is almost 80 years old and wants to retire.

    NCTru919 Thanks this.
