Let's talk day cab tractors, both conventional and cab-over, from today and the past. What tractors, with at least 40k lb rear axles (tandems), have the lightest curb weight? Post yours up if you've got the spec.
Preciate it.

This sounds like the place for a "one stack Mack with a window in the back"!

This was an OTR Rig now something I lived in. 88 T-600A with a single 120 gal tank 40K rears with a Fleet 315 Cummins Single Screw and then a Tag axle set up. Where she was so freaking light was that Aluminum Frame she had under it. Fully loaded with me in it hauling a Van I could scale with a 53 Ft Van right at 50K lbs. Had to take a max weight load to Philly one time on a 40 ft trailer boss had. I Scaled out 56K on that trip. Weight on the KW was 12,500
Second lightest one I drove was a 98 C120 Freightliner that was a Midroof that did scale 49500 in a 53 ft Reefer with full tanks. Freightliner was 14500
See it can be done in the OTR side if you know how to do it. -
I just ran across this posting right after buying the truck pictured. I was surprised to see it scale out at 15,900 LBS. Granted, that's not a true curb weight; the truck has fuel and all the fluids. That said I can probably knock off a couple of hundred pounds with a power washer!

Been a long time, my dad had a C70 Chevy 427 bigblock, tag axle. 12k. They used them to load out at steel mills. Then hook a road tractor to them and go. Look funny hooked to 5-9s doubles. Later in life it pulled a hopper bottom. It was slow, but 90k was no problem.
