I've got a few direct shippers in Fla.

Sadly,.. for the last year or so they wont pay much better than brokered loads.

My guess is they had a broker come in an under bid me. I've been dead heading up to Ga just on principle.

Oh BTW, James Hardie Doesn't Count as a Direct Shipper,lol- that's a Direct disaster.

On Occasion- I'll get some Steel to Pompano Beach- Then I'll shoot over the Ft Lauderdale and Bring Back Imports to the Midwest- Through a Forwarder I Know- Tile-Stone.

There is a place near Orlando that does fiberglass tanks for underground fuel storage. Always O/S loads,.. but rarely more than 15k lbs. I had a sweet deal worked out taking their tanks to a place in south MS. It allowed me to come in to Fla for home time when ever I saw a good paying load and not worry about getting back out.

Then I got the "We've been getting these moved for this rate" speech. Ok,.. well more power to you. Let me know when you need someone who wont screw it up and always makes on time deliveries.

I still have place in Clearwater that calls me from time to time when they have a crematorium they sold. Kinda creepy knowing those things will be used to burn bodies.

All I can do is keep the wheels rolling and do the best I can.
