You're correct they do not have name brands but their food tastes just like the name brands and cost a lot less. I admit it sort of strange but it is a good place to shop

We don't have either of the three here where I live. I think there used to be Kroger around here somewhere.

So, with that being said, I'm gonna let them figure it out.

I know a lot of people rag on Walmart, but when you can buy national brand items for 10% or more less, it just makes sense to go there. I don't mind doing self-checkout, i do it faster than the manned checkout, anyway.

I don't know about everywhere but most small towns Walmart lowers their prices when they come in run All then they raised their prices. Where I live a Piggly Wiggly was the only one who survived and Walmart is higher in this town than all the surrounding areas

The Aldi products are not off brand. They are just brands not recognized because they are not part of a big conglomerate. I've actually been happy with a lot of their products. Some I'm not happy with. I'll give you an example. Their cookie brand is Benton I believe. The fudge stripes are better than Keebler and about 40% cheaper. Their Tagalong type tastes just like the girl scout cookie. Saltines are way better than great value, but not as good as Nabisco. Priced over Walmart, way under Nabisco and totally worth it. Also my local Aldi produce is better than Publix and way cheaper. I was a doubter of Aldi for years until I really started trying some of it. I only get select things there but the list has been growing.

I would imagine for sure the produce would be about the same. Or even the canned vegetables maybe. I will have to go to Aldi and try the fudge stripes you speak of. I hadn't shopped there in a while, the last time I did was with my wife about a year or so ago maybe where we used to live. Down here in Houston there are lots of other stores like Aldi though. Joe V's, my brother shops there a lot he says its like H-E-B stuff they sell. I am not sure about that either though as I never been to Joe V's.
