Getting a load of tank heads and b heading up to La Prairie. My understanding is im being tasked with crossing over at Champlain NY. I have no felony convictions, but im being told my misdemeanor conviction of underage possession of alcohol might prevent me from crossing over.
Any ideas of that is going to be a problem?

Some misdemeanors here are classified as felonies (or whatever they call'em) in Canada.
For example, I have a misdemeanor conviction for supplying alcohol to a minor. Can't go to Canada because of it. They consider it a felony (or whatever).
You need to find a legal type familiar with the laws of both nations. -
I have the same conviction, no felonies. I'm curious to find out what happens.Gunner75 Thanks this.

I’m not a lawyer. And it’s soley up to the CBSA immigration officer who interviews you at Champlain. But your conviction in the states translates to a summary conviction(misdemeanour) here in Canada. Meaning if that is the only thing, and I mean the only thing on your record, then you should not be refused entry.

Just make sure you have 24 hours off in the last 14 days. That is part of their logs...

My license was suspended for failure to provide insurance back in 2013, but that judgement was suspended because I agreed to get a sr22 bond for 3 years. I've had a couple of speeding tickets over 15 years ago, in 2013 I had gotten a failure to control because of my motorcycle accident in May 2013. Dive then ive got nothing on my driving, and nothing on my criminal record dive 97

Not that I want to pry, I’m just trying to help... can you vaguely, without detail, list any criminal convictions since you were 18?
-
Criminal, just my underage possession of alcohol

Canadian Immigration should be called before you get up there.
The big thing is that if you are simple possession at 18 and a can in your hand walking down the street, that's not a problem. HOWEVER, if you were in a car with that can.. it becomes potentially a DUI and thus is a felony.
Im going to think you will be fine for Canada. on simple possession. But call their Border or visit them online and see for sure before you try getting across.
